Leadership Lessons Topic: Bodyworking: the Nonverbal Side of Networking

Networking is a common business practice and while events present a fantastic opportunity to make new connections, the experience can be overwhelming. Who do you talk to? What do you talk about? How do you move on from an awkward conversation? How do you know when someone is done talking to you? 

In this session, we’ll explore the nonverbal side of networking. Bodyworking is the art of using your body - and reading others - to improve your networking experiences. You'll learn how to read subtle nonverbal cues which will give you an advantage in challenging social situations.

Learning Objectives:

• Increase self-awareness of nonverbal habits

• Increase the ability to read others’ nonverbal communication

• Identify signals of comfort, discomfort, fear, and strength.
