Position Overview:

The Zionsville Chamber of Commerce is seeking a motivated and dynamic Assistant Director to support the Executive Director in driving strategic initiatives and managing day-to-day operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the Chamber’s impact through event production, member engagement, sponsorship development, and marketing communications. With over 400 member businesses, the Chamber is a vibrant hub for economic growth and community connection.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Production & Sponsorship Development:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of Chamber events including networking mixers, educational workshops, signature annual events, and community celebrations.
  • Manage event logistics, vendor coordination, volunteer engagement, and on-site execution.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors; create sponsorship packages and secure financial and in-kind support for events and programs.
  • Track event performance metrics and implement improvements based on feedback and outcomes.

Member Engagement & Retention:

  • Design and implement strategies to recruit, onboard, and retain Chamber members.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for member businesses, ensuring their needs are heard and addressed.
  • Facilitate member programs and initiatives that foster connection, visibility, and value.
  • Promote member benefits through regular outreach and personalized communication.

Marketing Communications:

  • Oversee the Chamber’s marketing and communications efforts, including newsletters, email campaigns, social media, and website updates.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to produce compelling content that highlights Chamber events, member achievements, and community initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all platforms.
  • Support public relations efforts and media outreach to enhance Chamber visibility.

Operational & Strategic Support:

  • Work closely with the Executive Director to implement strategic plans and organizational goals.
  • Assist with internal administration, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative programs that align with the Chamber’s mission and values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Chamber’s success.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Proven experience in event production, sponsorship sales, member engagement, and marketing.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, CRM platforms).
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
