Why not start a garden?

Why not start a garden?

Star Date 3/25/2020

As spring rolls around, the days get longer, the birds are chirping and we are all at home for a good chunk of time, why not start thinking about planting a garden.  You could start with a couple of pots or a small section in your yard.  Lettuce, peas and radishes are all easy to start.  It's a great way to keep the ones in your house busy for an hour or two.  All you need is some dirt, seeds and a little time.  My family started years ago with a couple pots on the back porch.  Now it has turned into 10 different raised garden beds all over our backyard.  We asked Holly Catron the Community Wellness Director from the Boone County Purdue Extension office for some information on how to get everyone started.  She sent us some great documentation on what plants do well in pots, how many to plant in how big of an area and even how to make your own soil mix.  The articles are below for you to check out all the information she sent us.  Further information can be found on the Purdue Extension office website at https://extension.purdue.edu/

Let us know in the comments below if you plan to start a garden and what plants you are going to start.
